We survived camping. Lots of stories to tell… Look for it on my top ten later today.
For now, off to pick up Lyle. Yes, a day after our return.
The one downside of our weekend was that traffic made us five minutes late to pick up the dog from the kennel. Five minutes. Not even, really, since we hit the exit at 4:59 pm. We called to see if they would wait for us, they said no. A little distressing since there’s only a one hour pick-up window and we’ve never been late, not once. And this has been our regular kennel since 2000. But it’s their business, their decision to make.
We love the kennel (Molly’s Run in Lansdale) – love, love, love – never a complaint, never a worry that Lyle isn’t being cared for (unlike our experience at Hickory Vet in Plymouth Meeting which was so bad and so horrifying that we almost called off our honeymoon in a desperate attempt to find Lyle new accommodations). But the lack of flexibility means that we’re now looking for a more flexible dog walking service for our shorter stints. We’ll continue to rely on Molly’s Run for longer stays but for a night or two, fingers crossed, we hope to use someone local. It’s like finding a new babysitter – a wee bit stressful. Wish me luck!
