Neon Green Thumb Sunday
It’s Green Thumb Sunday! And I’ve managed to unlock the photos from my camera (huge sigh of relief).
And no, the color of these peonies hasn’t been photo-shopped. They were that beautiful.
They’re also not mine.
Unfortunately, a few hard rains have stripped my peonies of their petals. But these beauties remained at Winterthur. They were magnificent.
The specific peony is Constance Spry. Constance Spry is traditionally a type of rose, not a type of peony. In fact, if you Google, you’re more likely to find the Constance Spry rose than the Constance Spry peony. But the folks at Winterthur say that this is a Constance Spry peony. I just say it’s amazing.
And as soon as I find out where I can get some, I’ll let you know!

I’m having trouble with my Peonies this year…the sudden onset of really heavy rain after a hot spring has made them “ball” the way roses someties do.

Your peonies are beautiful.
What a fabulous color.
There are a few types that do well here,
but not many.
Enjoy.

I could hardly believe there is also a ‘Constance Spry’ among peonies, but aunt Google told me there is : http://www.paeo.de/new/0406.html I was toldi it is a hybrid of P. lactifloraX P. peregrina.
I love peonies, but as the rain was really heavy here, most of mine look devastating.
