Increasing My Exposure to Culture

Category: Food and Drink, Home and Garden – lawmummy – 7:36 am

And by that, I mean bacterial cultures.

If you read the blog, you know that my family enjoys yogurt. I mean, really enjoys yogurt. Our drug of choice is Stonyfield smoothies - Kate has one almost every day - with yogurt for breakfast (apparently with sprinkles on yesterday, since dad made breakfast) and sometimes for dessert (oh yea, they consider it a treat).

My friend, Sue, has been making her own yogurt. It’s not hard to get me on the make your own stuff bandwagon, so now I am officially intrigued. Have you ever made your own yogurt before? Am I crazy to try it - I mean, crazier than usual?

  1. Just wait until they start singing operettas around the house…

  2. The mother of my infamous childhood friend made homemade yogurt - I’ll always associate it with her.

  3. Yes, I used to make my own. It was a no-brainer. After your first successful batch, you can entertain and amaze your children by letting them help. Great introduction to cooking no high heat or sharp implements are involved.
